Breweries sometimes choose to go with a split configuration for a variety of reasons. First off, some customers like to have their heat dissipated outdoors, however they like to have as much of their glycol circulation equipment such as glycol pumps, glycol tank, evaporator, and controls installed indoors. With this configuration, an air cooled condenser unit (condenser coil, fans, compressors) is installed outdoors next to the building, or on the roof. Indoors, a heat transfer pump tank skid is installed with the pumps, tank, evaporators, and controls.
